Forro Jacarandá

Acerca de

Forró Jacarandá is a Brazilian forró band based in Sydney, Australia. Our name comes from the Jacarandá tree; native to Brazil, yet now an icon of Sydney, painting the city purple every spring. Just like the tree, forró itself has crossed borders and taken root somewhere new: a genre born in Brazil's Northeast that has gone on to win over dancers and listeners across Australia and the world. We started playing together as a group on 6/6/25, and since then have performed at Festa Junina celebrations and events across Sydney's forró scene. Our mission is to bring the joy of forró from Brazil to Australia; enriching Sydney's cultural life through music and dance, connecting Brazilians abroad with their roots, and introducing forró to new audiences. We want Australians to feel what it's like to dance forró, live. https://www.instagram.com/forro.jacaranda/
