Asbestos removal worker
Removes asbestos from buildings safely, working for a business licensed by the state regulator.
Asbestos can kill
Breathing in asbestos fibres can cause fatal lung disease years later. Removal work must be run by a business that holds an asbestos removal licence (Class A or Class B). Workers need the required training and must be supervised.
What you do
You put up signs and barriers around the work area, choose your protective equipment and remove asbestos in ways that keep fibres out of the air. You wet the asbestos, then wrap or seal it in labelled bags or bins. You clean the work area, your tools and yourself. Every step follows the asbestos removal control plan.
