Apply to the Plumbers Licensing Board. The Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS) checks your identity, eligibility and technical qualifications, and you pay a fee. The Board issues several licence types, each with a different scope of work. For example, a tradesperson's licence lets you work under the direction of a plumbing contractor.
