Crane operator

Operates cranes to lift and move heavy materials on building and civil sites.

What you do

You test the crane before use to make sure it is safe. You work with riggers to position the hook and lift, move and place loads. You control the load and use signals with other workers. You watch the gauges for problems and look after the ropes and cables.
