How to get it
Do the NSW Security Licence Course with a training organisation approved by SLED (NSW Police). It starts with a pre-enrolment assessment, including a language, literacy and numeracy test. You also need a current first aid certificate (HLTAID011). The course gives you a certificate, not the licence. Then apply online through Service NSW. SLED checks your criminal history and takes your fingerprints, and some offences stop you from getting a licence. Subclass 1A Security Officer covers guarding and crowd control.
